Park County Assesor Hours

By Kevin on Dec 26, 2009 | In Welcome | Send feedback »

Beginning January 1, 2010, the Park County Assessor's Office business hours will be 7:00am to 6:00pm, Monday through Thursday. We will be closed on Fridays. This is an experiment with hours to see if it provides a savings in overhead. We apologize if this is an inconvenience. Please feel free to contact our office at:

Winter is Upon Us & The Elk are Here

By Kevin on Dec 6, 2009 | In Welcome | Send feedback »

As I sit here the snow is falling outside and the temperatures are hanging below freezing. This is a magical time of the year in South Park, its quiet, walking through the forest is peaceful, the animals are more relaxed.

And of course the amazing sights of Elk Herds across the Valley. 100s of Elk will herd together and wander around the basin grazing on the grasses that grew during the warmer months. And as the snow gets deeper higher up it will push the Elk Further down into the Valley.

Take some time to look around and spot the herds they are amazing.

Building Excellent Schools Today (BEST) or House Bill 1335 was passed in the State legislature in 2008 in order to provide matching funding for school districts with aging facilities that cannot afford to address all of the needs on their own.

Fall in South Park

By Kevin on Oct 2, 2009 | In Welcome | Send feedback »

When most people are asked to list one of the scenic phenomena for which Colorado is famous, fall colors aren't typically the first thing to come to mind. Those who have experienced autumn in the Rocky Mountains, however, know that the state can boast seasonal color-changing performances rivaling even those of the country's most famous fall destinations.
