You are, as your very good luck would have it, dialed in to the REAL South Park, a beautiful hunk of untamed real estate right in the center of Colorado. Welcome, and please make yourself comfortable as you learn a little bit about South Park, and the fact that we're NOT quite the same folks as those in Comedy Central's irreverent series, "South Park."

Although we HAVE all become filthy rich (with laughter) as a result of Trey Parker and Matt Stone's poking fun at us, but heck, those guys are happy to share the wealth.

And we're happy to share with you what's made Trey and Matt laugh all the way to the bank as well.

Settled in? Good, because here we go, to South Park! (Kenny, by the way, is alive and well.)

This book has quite a bit!!

First published in 1966, Bayou Salado is an engaging look at the history of a high cool valley in the Rocky Mountains. Now known as South Park, Bayou Salado once attracted Ute and Arapaho hunters as well as European and American explorers and trappers. Virginia McConnell Simmons's colorful accounts of some of the valley's more notable residents - such as Father Dyer, the skiing Methodist minister-mailman, and Silver Heels, the dancer who lost her legendary beauty while tending to the ill during a small pox epidemic - bring the valley's storied past to life.

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

This is a magical time of the year in South Park, its quiet, walking through the forest is peaceful, the animals are more relaxed.

And of course the amazing sights of Elk Herds across the Valley. 100s of Elk will herd together and wander around the basin grazing on the grasses that grew during the warmer months. And as the snow gets deeper higher up it will push the Elk Further down into the Valley.

Take some time to look around and spot the herds they are amazing.
